As I’m sure you all know from the five trillion jillion posts, tumblr is apparently going to shoot itself in the foot and ban all nsfw content later this month.

I’m not entirely sure why, since tumblr isn’t really generating a profit, it’s probably some kind of corporate move to try and save the site, but we all kinda know by now that a massive chunk of traffic to this site stems from nsfw content, so it’s probably going the way of the dinosaur.

I don’t have any links to drop yet as to where I’ll go, I’m still contemplating where to migrate, since the convenience of having everything in one place is not a thing anymore.

Twitter for example, is good for reach, because a lot of people are going there, there is already a broad audience there, it’s easier to share content there – but it’s also twitter, clunky, shit, doesn’t allow for wrongthink of any kind, so it’d just be this monotone “look at this art 🙂 retweet ugu uwu” smarmy business with the constant looming threat of a shutdown from nowhere for any reason.

Then you have sites like pixiv, inkybunny, etc, which are supposedly alright for sharing content, but don’t necessarily get as much traffic as the alternatives by comparison. Furaffinity is potentially an option, but it also shits all over image quality and has also taken a turn for the worse in the recent years.

Either way I know for sure that there is going to be a great divide now where you’ll “lose” a lot of people you follow, and if you’re an artist, a lot of people who follow you, since everyone are in a state of panic and are splitting off in different directions, it’s going to be a bit like when everyone gradually transitioned from Skype to Discord, but on a larger scale.

The only site I know for sure I’ll still use even post-tumblr is Derpibooru, where I’ve pretty much always posted the full res of my MLP stuff, so if you want, you can go to my profile https://derpibooru.org/profiles/ManualReplica and follow my artist tag (artist:replica).
Remember, that you need to set your filter to show explicit content in the upper right.

You’ll also always be able to reach me there even if I do settle on another site as my “main” place to go, since I check derpibooru daily.

IF YOU ARE A COMMISSIONER/HAVE A COMMISSION IN LINE STILL, don’t worry, I have all your orders written down and listed in a doc, including your discord names, etc, so I’ll of course still message you with your finished commission as they happen, and you’ll still always be able to reach me on discord if you have concerns, questions, etc.

I’ve struggled to figure out which galleries/sites are worth using over others and it’s never really been clear to me. What do most people primarily use? Tumblr just sort of ended up being my main art site. Twitter seems to be a pretty standard place to go as of late, but if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to say so.
